PA-PEMA: 402 Incident Command System Overview for Elected Officials
The purpose of this course is to familiarize Senior Officials (executives, elected and appointed officials, city/county managers,
agency administrators, etc.) with their role in supporting incident management within the National Incident Management
System (NIMS).
Objectives
• Introduce the Incident Command System (ICS) to Municipal Elected Officials.
• Participants will explain what ICS is and how agencies use ICS to organize and coordinate their response efforts.
• Familiarize ICS terminology.
• Explanation of incident sizes and complexities.
• Explanation of the administration, financial, and reporting implications of incidents.
This course is being offered FREE for all municipal officials (current and newly elected/appointed) that are members of the
WCCCoG. Officials that are not members, there will be a $15 charge.
Lunch will be provided.
Please arrive by 8:50 am to ensure prompt start of session at 9 am. We will break for lunch (provided) around 11:30 am.
