What Employers Need To Know
On March 18, 2020, Congress enacted the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which requires all public employers, and all private employers with 500 employees or less, to provide two weeks paid sick leave to all employees, and to provide up to 12 weeks leave (with 10 weeks paid) to employees who must care for children who are at home because of a school or daycare closure.
This new law imposes substantial requirements upon all affected employers, effective April 1, 2020.
Christopher Gerber, Esquire and Michael G. Crotty, Esquire, partners with Siana Law, will address the following issues:
- Eligibility
- Calculation of Benefits
- Notice Requirements
- Exemptions
- Documentation
- Record keeping
- Remedies for Violations
- Impact upon municipal operations & construction products
